State Park in Maine is one of the most beauritul places to paint. Many
well-known artists have painted there. The park has some truly wilderness
areas and features lakes, meadows, mountains and woods. When I was very
little, my family traveled from Lewiston (where I grew up) to the great
north woods of Maine and we camped. I still love to camp out in the area
and look forward to my visits. I climbed up the path along the falls to
find a place to paint this. This is just a piece of the falls, maybe a
sixth. The rocks were covered with moss and lichen. I need to practice
painting waterfalls, but this painting does have a graphic appeal and
shouts "waterfall" with a volume that matches the sound of the
day. |
